Week 5 NFL Power Rankings

1. New Orleans Saints (4-0). So far so good for the Saints. The offense is as good as ever and the defense is much improved, which was to be expected with the addition of Gregg Williams. They have their biggest test this Sunday against the Giants.

2. Indianapolis Colts (5-0). The Colts started the season out struggling to win against a couple Florida teams, but since then they have marched through their competition. They are a very impressive 5-0 but haven't really faced elite competition. Their schedule is set up for 13-14 wins this year.

3. New York Giants (5-0). I really think the Giants are the class of the NFC. They used an easy early schedule to build confidence with their young receivers. The game vs. the Saints should be a good one.

4. Denver Broncos (5-0). I do not believe in the defense, but 5-0 is 5-0. The Broncos are playing out of their minds and should win this division.

5. Minnesota Vikings (5-0). The Vikings are another team that has benifited from some weak opponents. But they have a team that is built to succeed long term. The next 3 weeks will test them.

6. Philadelphia Eagles (3-1). The offense is as good as ever. If Donovan McNabb can stay healthy this team could challenge for a Super Bowl once again.

7. Baltimore Ravens (3-2). The Ravens are just a couple tough breaks away from being undefeated. The offense is legit and the defense isn't playing as good as they can. They aren't going away.

8. Atlanta Falcons (3-1). Atlanta really dismantled the 49ers, showing that their defense can make some plays as well.

9. New York Jets (3-2). The Jets hung tough against the Saints for a while then the Dolphins. But they predictably showed they are not as good as that 3-0 start. They'll end up an 8-8 team.

10. Cincinnati Bengals (4-1). Sure, they need last second wins to win every game, but they are 4-1. And I never use the "could have" argument but they are the flukiest of fluke plays away from being 5-0.

11. Chicago Bears (3-1)
12. New England Patriots (3-2)
13. Dallas Cowboys (3-2)
